LONDON - Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty is all set to meet the Queen as well as Prime Minister Tony Blair three days after she won the reality show Celebrity Big Brother. Shetty, who was at the center of racism and bullying row during the contest, said she was honored to meet the Queen.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, the 31-year-old star said that the whole racism row had been blown out of proportion. "The row has been politicized but why wouldn't I want to meet Tony Blair?" Shetty said. "I would meet with anyone who wants to meet me and who has shown solidarity."
The tabloid said that Shetty had been invited to a function on March 12 to mark the Commonwealth day where she would meet the Queen. On February 7 she is expected to meet Tony Blair and other ministers at the House of Commons.
Shilpa was called a "dog" on the program and was never referred to by name. TV star Jade Goody, singer Jo O'Meara and model Danielle Lloyd were her tormentors on the show. Goody was evicted soon after and the future of Lloyd is in jeopardy thanks to her behavior.
Shilpa was in good spirits during the interview and said she was still looking for the love of her life, "I'm single and I'm ready to mingle."
