Taipei - Taiwan stocks ended up 2.8 per cent Friday, bolstered by Wall Street's overnight rally that triggered strong buying in tech shares, analysts said. The TAIEX share index opened higher and continued its upward trend to close at 4,592.5, up 126.08 points, or 2.82 per cent.
All eight major sectors rose, with electronics and textile sub-indexes each rising 3.2 per cent to become the day's biggest winners, followed by cement's 2.8 per cent and petrochemicals' 2.2 per cent.
