Madrid - Spanish Liga club Betis announced late on Saturday night the signing of Ricardo Oliveira from second division Zaragoza. The deal went through just minutes before the closing of the winter transfer window at midnight on Saturday.
Betis will pay 9 million euros (11.58 million dollars) to Zaragoza for the Brazilian striker.
Oliveira, 28, has signed acontract with Betis which runs until June 2013.
Oliveira played for Betis between 2004 and 2006, helping them to win the Spanish Kings' Cup and enter the Champions League. He then left for AC Milan but flopped at San Siro and moved on to Zaragoza, who were relegated to the Spanish second division in 2008.
Another Brazilian striker on the move is Pedro Oldoni, loaned out by Atletico Paranaense to Valladolid.
Struggling Espanyol have bought veteran Uruguayan striker Ivan Alonso from second division Murcia, but have failed to clinch the signing of midfielder Oscar Ahumada from Argentine giants River Plate.
