Austrian far-right legislator convicted of anti-Muslim incitement

Vienna - Austrian far-right parliamentarian Susanne Winter was convicted Thursday of incitement because of her anti-Muslim statements, including the claim that Islam's prophet Mohammed was a paedophile. A court in Winter's home town of Graz also found the 51-year-old politician guilty of humiliating a religion. She was sentenced to a fine of 24,000 euros (31,000 dollars) euros and a suspended prison term of three months, Austrian news agency APA reported. The politician, who took a seat in parliament last fall for the Freedom Party (FPOe), made the anti-Islamic remarks in January 2008. She also proposed in a discussion with students that Muslim men should commit bestiality rather than making "indecent advances" on girls. The politician had pleaded innocent Thursday, claiming that she "did not want to insult anyone, but only to point out problems." The verdict is not yet legally binding. Winter's son Michael, a former youth leader in the Freedom Party, was convicted of the same crime last October. He had suggested in a newsletter that Turkish Muslims were in the habit of committing bestiality.

Our problem is simple, but if we don't do something to fix it we're going to be in the same position as much of Europe. We have a history of tolerance toward others with differing opinions and positions, and we're letting the Islamic Supremecists use that tolerance against us.
We SHOULD be tolerant of legitimate differences: what we should NOT do is to be tolerant of Islamic intolerance! These people practice the most intolerant of philosophies and actions, yet have the unmitigated gall to call US intolerant if we point this out. No More!! We must take a stand and let the Supremecists know that we will NOT tolerate this behavior, we will NOT back down, and we will NOT sacrifice our Constitutional RIGHT to free speech simply because it annoys them! If they don't like to hear people speak about the problems with their system, let them not listen or, better yet, let them go somewhere where their ears won't be offended by the Truth!
This caving in to their every ridiculous demand must STOP!!!

so it`s safe for me to say that all other religions are fair game in these traitors eyes. islam isn`t any different than others and shouldn`t be cuddled just because that`s where the money trail leads. why is it perfectly okay to run down christians,but when a christian says something about islam,they`re a criminal. it`s quite obvious to me and other functioning brains that the worlds mindset is being forcefully influenced by the muslims and being sold by the politicians{not statesmen}at whole sale prices.

Is it Incitement if. What they say is true,what if they had done some investegation and found this to be true,then what they where in fact saying was the truth.Then how can informining the public be a case of Incitement.Unless there is no factual evedience to support there claim. Or are you in the habbit of pointing the finger and saying you did a bad thing with out first checking it out? What is this world comming to a bunch of politicaly correct whimps when those other groups in fact say and do the very thing that you are accuseing this woman and son of doing but in reverse granted two wrongs dont make it right but there is a point in which one goes too far. how is it possible to insult a religion? the people who belive in it perhaps, but a religion is a framework, like a house. "I insult your house!" the house doesn't care. the people who live in the house may be insulted only if the claim were true and it was known to be socially unnacceptible. otherwise the insult is a refelction on the ignorance of the person who insults.

Islam is a complete governmental system with legislative, judicial, military, educational and religious branches that cannot be seperated. This verdict is outrageous. I was unaware that Austria has no freedom of speech. Under our laws someone who would marry and advocate marriage between a grown man and an 8 year old girl, for example, would be considered a pedophile. From what I have read that is precisely what Mohamed decreed. But then political correctness is killing Austria and soon the rest of the West.
