Suspected tribesmen blow up main oil pipeline in Yemen

Sana'a - Attackers, believed to be tribesmen, blew up a major oil pipeline in western Yemen on Sunday, but there were no reports of casualties, police said. The explosion occurred in the Khawlan area, some 60 kilometres south-east of the capital Sana'a, where the pipeline runs to the Red Sea exporting facility of Rass Essa. Witnesses said thick black smoke billowed over the blast scene for several hours following the explosion. Police officials told Deutsche-Presse Agentur
