Tehran - Iran and Malaysia on Tuesday signed three agreements at the end of the three-day visit by Malaysian Prime Minster Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to Tehran. The two nations inked pacts on scientific, technological and auto manufacturing fields, as well as drug trafficking, official news agency IRNA reported.
The auto manufacturing agreement called for Malaysia's Proton company to carry out joint manufacturing projects, IRNA said.
In a press conference with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Badawi said prospect of bilateral cooperation was bright, adding that Iran was Malaysia's third-largest trade partner in the Middle East with a trade volume of over 3 billion dollars.
Ahmadinejad said there was no obstacle to boosting bilateral cooperation and called Malaysia a brotherly country for Iran.
