New York/Waterloo - Stephen Hawking, 66, the internationally known theoretical physicist, is to serve as guest professor at a Canadian university after he reached retirement age from Britain's Cambridge University. The Perimeter Institute (PI) for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario, said Friday on its website that the British scientist was taking a teaching chair and would travel regularly to Waterloo starting this summer to teach.

Hawking is one of the world's leading experts on black holes in outerspace.
