Verona, Italy - A married couple and their three children were discovered dead Friday in Verona, Italy, in what investigators believe to be a family murder, news reports said. The bodies, each displaying gunshot wounds, were found by a cleaning woman when she entered the home of the 33-year-old tax consultant, his lawyer wife, also 33, and their children, aged nine, six and three, the ANSA news agency reported.
The man is believed to have opened fire against his family before killing himself, the news reports said.
Two pistols were also found at the family home, situated in the north eastern Italian city's San Michele district, ANSA reported.
Investigators believe the shootings took place on Thursday evening, when the children, who were found wearing pyjamas, had already gone to bed.
A motive for the killings was not immediately known, the reports said.
