Manama, Bahrain - The South Korean Navy is considering sending warships into the Middle East to join international coalition forces in efforts to combat terrorism and piracy on the high-seas, a top South Korean naval commander said. Rear Admiral Yoon Young-sik, who arrived in Manama on Sunday for a three-day visit aboard the destroyer Dae Jo Yeong, said that such a deployment if approved by the Korean parliament would be part of the existing naval coalition presence.
"Our government is presently considering the option of sending peace-keeping troops, but that will not happen before we receive the approval of the National Assembly," he told
