London - A second-half goal from Ayegbeni Yakubu helped Everton salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Middlesbrough in Sunday's early English Premier League game at Goodison Park. Gary O'Neil gave Middlesbrough an early lead after an excellent counter-attacking move involving Stewart Downing but Yakubu steered in a Mikel Arteta free-kick from the left to make it 1-1 against his former club 19 minutes into the second half.
The draw sees David Moyes' side stay seventh on 19 points, one clear of Middlesbrough. Hull City take on Manchester City in the day's later game.
