Japanese film 'Still Walking' gets Golden Astor in Argentina

Mar del Plata, Argentina - The Japanese film Still Walking from director Hirokazu Kore-eda Saturday received the prestigious Golden Astor as best film of the 23rd International Film Festival in Argentina's Atlantic coastal town of Mar del Plata . A second prize also went to Japan: Kiyoshi Kurosawa received a Silver Astor for best direction in his film, Tokyo Sonata. Silver Astors also went to French actress Isabelle Huppert as best actress in the Swiss-french production of Home, and to Danish actor Ulrich Thomsen for his acting in Fear Me Not. The special prize of the jury went to the Swedish film Involuntary by Ruben Oestlund. More than 400 films from 46 countries were competing in this resort town 400 kilometres south of the capital Buenos Aires.
