Madrid - The weekend saw many goals and much drama but mo changes atop the Spanish Liga as the top five teams all won. Barcelona stay top with 25 points from 10 games, after slaughtering hapless Valladolid 6-0 on Saturday, with Samuel Eto'o scoring four goals in another first-half exhibition.

Barca have scored 34 goals so far, the highest 10-game total since the great Real Madrid side of 1959.

In second place - just one point behind brilliant Barca - are Villarreal, who scored a 2-1 home win on Sunday over midtable Almeria.

Guiseppe Rossi gave Villarreal the lead in the first minute with a long, left-footed drive that gave Almeria keeper Diego Alves no chance.

Joseba Llorente made it 2-0 for Villarreal in the 16th minute, turning in a Robert Pires cross from the right.

Pablo Piatti pulled a goal back for Almeria in the 62nd minute, after good work down the left by Albert Crusat. After that, Villarreal had few problems in holding on for an important win.

Later Sunday, Valencia reclaimed third place with a 3-0 win at luckless Getafe.

Manuel Fernandes gave "Los Ches" the lead in the 29th minute with a powerful drive after being set up by Juan Mata.

Getafe were weakened by the sending-off of Roberto Soldado for stupidly head-butting Carlos Marchena just before the interval.

Valencia played on the break in the second half and settled the issue with handsome strikes from wingers Joaquin Sanchez and Vicente Rodriguez.

"It was very important for us to win today," said Vicente, "after what happened against Santander" (a 4-2 home defeat on November 1).

"There are several teams playing well now, but we intend to stay up there close to the top."

Valencia are level on 23 points with Real Madrid, who scored an epic 4-3 win Saturday over Malaga, with four goals from Gonzalo Higuain, standing in for the injured Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

Sevilla stay in fifth place, level with Valencia on 20 points, after beating Recreativo Huelva 1-0 at home - their first win in four games.

Frederic Kanoute scored the only goal in the 64th minute, heading in a perfect centre from right-winger Jesus Navas.

Fourteen minutes later, Sevilla were given a penalty for a foul by Nasief Morris on Diego Capel. However, Kanoute's spot-kick was well saved by Huelva keeper Asier Riesgo.

Huelva pressed strongly for an equalizer at the end, and Sevilla keeper Andres Palop needed to pull off a couple of sharp saves.

Deportivo Coruna moved up to sixth on Sunday by beating Espanyol 1-0 on a goal by Mexican playmaker Andres Guardado.

In seventh place are Atletico Madrid, who were held to a 0-0 draw by bottom team Osasuna.

Getafe are eighth, level on 13 points with Malaga.

Then come Racing Santander - 1-0 winners over Sporting Gijon - and Mallorca, who were held to a 3-3 draw by Athletic Bilbao.

Espanyol, Gijon and Almeria are level with Mallorca and Santander, all on 12 points.

Betis turned in the performance of the day to win 4-2 at Numancia, a result that takes them up to sixth from bottom on 11 points.

Then come Valladolid on 10. Huelva and Numancia have seven, Bilbao six and just five for poor Osasuna, still looking for their first win under new coach Jose Antonio Camacho.
