Madrid - Barcelona playmaker Andres Iniesta will be out of action for around six weeks, according to the digital versions of Catalan papers Sport and Mundo Deportivo on Tuesday night. Iniesta tore a muscle at the back of his right thigh in Tuesday's 1-1 draw against FC Basel, a result which keeps Barca on top of Champions League group D.
The slender midfielder suffered the injury in the 67th minute, and was replaced by Samuel Eto'o. He will undergo complete medical tests by the Barca doctors on Wednesday.
Iniesta will now struggle to be fit for Barca's big game at home to historic rivals Real Madrid on December 14.
Barca defender Gerard Pique will also undergo tests on Wednesday, after suffering a heavy blow to his left leg.
