Stockholm - A Syrian-Lebanese singer was due to appear at a remand custody hearing late Tuesday on suspicion of drugs possession, officials at the Stockholm district court said. Singer George Wassouf, who has recorded some 30 albums, was arrested on Saturday when police raided his hotel in downtown Stockholm, local media reported.
The raid took place shortly before he was due to perform at a concert in a Stockholm suburb.
The concert was subsequently cancelled and the organizer has disappeared, angering fans who wanted a refund.
