Santa Cruz, Spain - A boat with 125 African refugees has landed at the island of La Gomera, along with the bodies of two passengers who did not survive, Spanish police reported Wednesday. Police said three of the refugees were taken to hospital, suffering from severe hypothermia.
The 20-metre-long boat landed on a beach of La Gomera, the second- smallest of the seven Canary Islands.
The boat's origin was not initially known, but some of the refugees said the boat had departed from the West African state of Guinea and they had been at sea about eight to ten days.
