Munich - Prosecutors in Munich will not be opening an investigation into claims of possible match-fixing at last season's UEFA Cup semi-final between Zenit St Petersburg and Bayern Munich. A spokesman said Sunday there were "no concrete grounds" to warrant any proceedings. Spanish judicial investigators had asked Munich prosecutors for legal assistance in an investigation into members of a suspected criminal organization. Earlier this month, Spanish newspapers El Pais and ABC reported that as part of the investigation judicial authorities were following up a claim by a suspected Russian crime boss that the tie involving Zenit could have been rigged. Spain's National Court has merely confirmed that an investigative judge is investigating a group of suspected Russian crime bosses who were arrested in Spain in June.
