Madrid - Spain's victorious Euro 2008 players have received a considerable increase in their title bonus, Spanish media reported on Wednesday. The Marca sports daily said that the players and the Spanish football federation (RFEF) agreed that each player would receive 500,000 euros (678,000 dollars) - up 286,000 euros from the previously agreed bonus.
The federation has also said that they will give each player a state of the art television set. The players would have received a present much earlier, but they could not agree on what they wanted.
The newspaper said that RFEF received 27 million euros from Europe's controlling body UEFA for winning the title. Their success also resulted in an increase of advertising revenue.
Spain won the Euro 2008 title on June 29 in Vienna, 1-0 over Germany.
