Harare/Johannesburg - Details of the deal are still unclear Sunday as the differing parties in Zimbabwe's powersharing agreement in Zimbabwe continued to form a coalition government. Although the composition of the new government is to be announced Monday at a ceremony in Harare, media reports say the cabinet, the Defence Ministry and the secret services are to be controlled by President Robert Mugabe.
In total Mugabe's ZANU(PF) party is to hold 15 of the 31 ministry posts.
The Movement for Democratic Change of Morgan Tsvangirai as well as the MDC splinter group led by Arthur Mutambara are to control the rest.
Tsvangirai is to control the Foreign and Finance Ministries as well as the Interior Ministry, which includes the police.
It remains unclear who will hold the Justice Ministry.
The foreign ministers of the 27 European Union states are to decide Monday in Brussels whether to expand as planned sanctions against the leadership of the authoritarian Mugabe regime.
In light of the formation of a coalition government, it is thought possible that the EU will wait to see how the situation develops.
