Hamburg - Serena Williams has moved back to the top of the WTA women's tennis rankings issued Monday after edging out Jelena Jankovic in the final of the US Open on Sunday. Williams, who last occupied the top position in 2005, beat the Serbian 6-4, 7-5 in a rain-delayed final in New York to move to 4,091 points - 126 points more than Jankovic.
Former number one Serbian Ana Ivanovic has slipped down to number three in the rankings.
The only newcomer into the top 10 is Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, who comes at 10th.
