Beijing - Argentine basketball star Emanuel Ginobili said Wednesday that his team had a slim chance of beating the United States in Friday's semifinal clash at the Beijing Olympics. "I do not want to talk about a miracle. But we have a 5 to 10 per cent chance of beating the United States," Ginobili said after Argentina's dramatic 80-78 win over Greece in the quarterfinals.

The San Antonio Spurs shooting guard said the South Americans - who are defending their gold medal - will need an outstanding performance in order to beat the US side commanded by Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

"We will have to play a brilliant game from the strategy point of view," Ginobili said. "Now the colour does not matter, the thing is to get a medal - gold, silver or bronze."

The Argentine star also said, "This team is an example not just for Argentine sport and society, but for the world. I have never been in a team like this. I am proud of it."
