Milan - Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko appears close to rejoining his former team AC Milan after two unconvincing seasons at Chelsea, repubblica.it reported Wednesday. Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi and his Chelsea counterpart Roman Abramovich are said to have reached an agreement earlier this week to transfer the footballer on a loan deal.

Sheva, who turns 32 on September 29, joined Milan from Ukraine's side Dynamo Kiev in 1999 and remained in Italy until 2006. He scored 173 goals in 296 games with the Devils and won an Italian Serie A title and a Champions League.

His stint at Chelsea was not as convincing as he often missed the starting lineup also due to several injuries.
