Beijing - Day 12 at the Beijing Olympics began in bright sunshine Wednesday as cloudless skies welcomed the athletes for the morning competitions. Temperatures were expected to rise to 30 degrees by midday with humidity expected to be around 70 to 80 per cent.
Clouds might gather for the evening athletics session in the Bird's Nest Stadium while the sailing competition in Qingdao could be made difficult by the absence of clouds.
Conditions in Qingdao were predicted to improve by Thursday when winds should pick up. Beijing could see isolated showers with temperatures about 20 degrees on that day.
