Milan - Brazilian footballer Julio Cesar Baptista has arrived in Rome where he is to join Serie A side Roma on a transfer deal from Real Madrid, ANSA reported. Roma said they paid 9 million euros (13 million dollars) for the midfielder, who turns 27 on October 1. He is to undergo medical tests at a Rome clinic on Monday afternoon.
Baptista has been nicknamed The Tank due to his solid build. After beginning his career at Sao Paulo, he transferred to Spain with Sevilla and on to Real Madrid, who loaned him to Arsenal for the 2006-2007 season.
He played 41 games with the Brazilian national team scoring 10 goals.
