London - Jaguar has given the X-Type a makeover with a restyled front face, interior modifications and new gearbox for both the sedan and station wagon. For an extra 2,080 euros (3,265 dollars), customers can opt for a refined 2.2-litre diesel engine now linked to a six-speed automatic gearbox. The driver can select the Sport Mode for extra responsiveness or choose the sequential shift option.

The X-Type features the revised look of the XJ with a mesh grille and aggressive low-slung bonnet. The interior includes a new trim range with soft-touch plastics and carbon fibre details.

Prices in Europe start at 31,500 euros (49,600 dollars) for the basic model with the station wagon selling for 33,500 euros.
