Sydney - Australians Tuesday claimed Olive Riley, who died earlier this week at the age of 108, was the world's oldest blogger. A posting on a tribute website said she died Saturday at a nursing home in Woy Woy north of Sydney and would be "mourned by thousands of internet friends and hundreds of descendents and other relatives."

Riley's last entry, posted last month, told of her getting to know the woman in the next bed through an impromptu bit of singing.

"Guess what happened! She and I sang a happy song, as I do every day, and before long we were joined by several nurses, who sang along too. It was quite a concert!" Riley wrote.

She was born in Broken Hill in 1899 when it was a roaring mining town. She worked as a cook and a barmaid and had three children.
