London - A British soldier was killed in Afghanistan after his vehicle overturned on patrol, the British Ministry of Defence reported Saturday. It was unclear whether the incident was an accident or an attack.
In recent weeks, two British soldiers were killed in the south of Afghanistan.
A total of 109 British soldiers have died since the beginning of the deployment to overthrow the Islamic extremist Taliban seven years ago.
The British have around 7,800 soldiers stationed mainly in the dangerous southern portion of the country.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown recently stated that the troop levels would be raised to 8,030.
