Vienna - The non-qualified Brits lead the way as the official Euro 2008 website has registered one billion page hits so far, the ruling body UEFA said on Monday. UEFA said that the traffic at www.euro2008.com had risen by 250 per cent compared to the 2004 edition in Portugal since it was launched in February - with one week of play still to come.
Some 42 million users visited the text, video and multimedia sections of the site in June alone.
UEFA said that 63 per cent of the users came from Europe, 20 per cent from the American continent, 14 per cent from Asia and three per cent from other parts in the worlds.
The users are led by Britons with 15 per cent even though neither England nor other British teams are qualified. Germany and the United States follow with eight per cent each.
