Paris - France coach Raymond Domenech refused to comment on his future after his team was eliminated from the Euro 2008 championship Tuesday, instead asking his girlfriend to marry him. "I have nothing to say about my job, but I will say that I want to marry Estelle," Domenech told M6 television, moments after France was defeated 2-0 by Italy to finish last in its Euro 2008 group.
There was no immediate response from his companion, journalist Estelle Denis. However, French media reported Tuesday that a defeat would almost certainly cost the 56-year-old Domenech his job.
The favourite to replace him is the former France international and one-time Monaco and Juventus Turin coach Didier Deschamps.
