Singapore - A new Singapore-based satellite television firm plans to beam shows to 220 million viewers in China and South-East Asia when it goes live next quarter. NL Yellow River Satellite TV, a joint venture between Singapore media firm Net Leader Holdings and China Yellow River Television and Broadcasting Media (CYRTB), plans to offer Chinese-language shows including variety programmes, sports, dramas and animated features, a joint statement said on Saturday. Net Leader Holdings has a 49-per-cent stake in the 50-million-US-dollar joint venture, while CYRTB has 51 per cent. Plans also include beaming the station to the Middle East and Europe, with the ultimate goal of reaching "all overseas Chinese worldwide," the statement said.
