London - British model Liz Hurley, her husband Arun Nayar and her former lover, Hugh Grant, Thursday won damages totalling 58,000 pounds (116,000 dollars) for invasion of privacy over photos taken of them while they were on holiday in a private resort in the Maldives. The three had taken action at the High Court in London against two photo agencies who will pay the sum with contributions from two British newspaper groups who published them.
The trio, who were not in court, had argued that the pictures were taken covertly without their knowledge while they were on holiday in a resort which they had chosen for the complete privacy and seclusion it offered.
"It has been most upsetting for the claimants to have their privacy invaded by these defendants," their lawyer said.
Hurley, 42, married 43-year-old Nayar at a lavish wedding in India in March 2007. Her 13-year-liaison with actor Hugh Grant ended in 2000, but the couple have stayed good friends.
