Milan - An Inter Milan fan in Pisa threw a television set out of his third-floor window after a squandered spot kick during a weekend game denied his side the Serie A title, Italian media reported Monday. The man reportedly lost his composure when he watched Inter defender Marco Materazzi having his penalty saved by Siena goalkeeper Alex Manninger, to leave the score at 2-2.

The result allowed second-place Roma to move within one point of Inter with one game left. Had Inter won the game, they would have secured a third straight title.

The television exploded as it hit the ground in the yard of the apartment block. Police have charged the man with hurling dangerous objects.
