Munich - Bayern Munich defender Philipp Lahm said the appointment of Juergen Klinsmann as coach would not affect any decision he takes on his future at the club. Lahm, who is eyeing a possible move abroad, said his personal prospects would be the decisive factor on whether or not he stays at the newly-crowned German champions.
"I will be holding talks with Juergen Klinsmann in the next few days," he said in Munich Thursday.
The Germany full-back, who has been linked with Barcelona and Manchester United, could leave Bayern on a free transfer at the end of next season.
Bayern have been trying to get the defender to sign an early contract extension, but announced last month they were withdrawing their offer after the negotiations had failed to progress.
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has insisted that Lahm would definitely be remaining at Bayern until the end of his contract.
Lahm, 24, had a successful 2006 World Cup under former Germany coach Klinsmann, who succeeds outgoing Ottmar Hitzfeld at the end of the season.
Any decision to leave would be "very difficult because I have a very good relationship with him," Lahm also told Kicker sports magazine.
