Singapore's super-jumbo to boost service to Beijing during Olympics

Singapore - Singapore Airlines (SIA) will fly the world's largest passenger jet on one of its three daily flights between the city-state and Beijing to satisfy greater demand during the lead-up to the Olympic Games, the carrier said on WednesdayThe first Airbus A380 flight to China will depart from Singapore August 2 at 0830, arriving in China's capital at 1440. The return flight will leave Beijing at 1705 and touch down in Singapore at 2320, SIA said.

The plane will operate daily until August 8.

SIA is the only airline operating the super-jumbo. Service started on the Singapore-Sydney route October 25 and the Singapore-London route on March 18. The Singapore-Tokyo service begins May 20.
