The top film producers in India; Yash Chopra, Subhash Ghai and Amit Khanna have banned Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor after a unanimous vote on behalf of the Film & TV Producers Guild of India.

Shakti Kapoor, who has worked in more than 300 movies and mostly played villainous role, was caught on tape asking India TV journalist posing as an aspiring actress to sleep with him.

The 40-minute video clip shows Kapoor in a hotel room in Mumbai telling the undercover reporter: “I want to make love to you ... and if you want to come in this line of business, you have to do what I am telling you to do.”

Kapoor is also heard telling the woman he will put her through acting and dance classes before introducing her to top directors. He also names three Indian actresses who allegedly had sex with top producers and directors in exchange for roles.

But Kapoor said that he had already apologized to those he mentioned, saying “the channel framed me.”

Most of the bigwigs whom Kapoor mentioned in his sleazy conversation have maintained to stage silent.

Producer Karan Johar said: “Let’s not dignify the incoherent ramblings of a pathetic man with a reaction.” Actresses Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee have also chosen to maintain a dignified silence.

In the last two months, many channels have aired footage of Hindu holy men sexually harassing female devotees and former MPs sleeping with call girls.
