Amman - Jordan's King Abdullah II on Sunday held talks with visiting Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Seniora and warned of regional "repercussions" from the Lebanese political crisis, an official statement said. "The monarch warned that the continuation of the present situation in Lebanon will have repercussions not only on Lebanon but also on the security and stability of the region in general," the statement said.

King Abdullah had "voiced support for the efforts being exerted by the Lebanese government with a view to finding an acceptable way out of the political crisis", it added.

Seniora, who arrived in Jordan earlier Sunday as part of an Arab tour, briefed the monarch on the outcome of his trip and "the options open to the Lebanese government in the forthcoming stage to ensure Lebanon's unity and national reconciliation," the statement said.

King Abdullah joined leaders of Saudi Arabia and Egypt in boycotting the Arab summit held in Damascus in late March to put pressure on Syria to contribute positively to resolving the Lebanese crisis.
