Miami - As the ATP continues its probe involving suspicious online gambling on a Nikolay Davydenko match into an eighth month, the Russian protagonist has learned to live with uncertainty and get on with his tennis. That's exactly what the world number four did at the weekend, winning the Miami Masters decisively over Rafael Nadal in straight sets.

After an autumn of tension, Davydenko is calm about the tennis investigation into a match he lost in Poland last August, which some suggest could have been tampered with.

"It's not every day in my mind, only if you ask me" he said after his second Masters title victory from two of the elite finals.

"I'll forget as soon as I leave because for me it's not now important.

"It's more important for me thinking about how I must be for Davis Cup in Moscow (next weekend v the Czech Republic) and how I need to prepare for the clay court season."

With a legal battle on over his mobile telephone records brewing, the player remains tranquil. "I don't think about the investigation.

"It should be my lawyer thinking, and my manager. I'm not concerned with the outcome any more.

"It can be investigated longer, but nobody is pushing me now. I can play tennis. I can do what I want normally - I just can win a tournament."

Davydenko said he has felt "great" since the start of the season.

"I felt this year might be difficult for me. It can be mentally heavy in your head. I want to stay number four. Now I can do that after winning here."

And despite the legal issues, Davydenko feels that perhaps a weight has been lifted form his tennis with his Miami success.

"Maybe something changed in my tennis here in Miami, I hope so. The clay season is coming now, and for me it should be different tennis.

"Maybe I feel more confidence because I beat very good guys here. For me it's good I won here, and we'll see how good I can prepare for the clay court season."
