Sydney - Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd hasn't decided whether he will attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, Foreign Minister Stephen Smith said Sunday. But Smith stressed there would be no Australian boycott of the Olympics because of the crackdown in Tibet or other human rights concerns.

"He's been invited, as have I," Smith said. "I haven't made a decision yet whether I'm able to go, and nor has he."

Rudd, a Mandarin-speaker who has been criticized for not speaking out about human rights in China, is scheduled to visit China this week.

"It's in the international interest that China engages in the world and in some respects there's no better example of that than the Olympics themselves," Smith said.
