Budapest - Thieves Friday blew up an ATM machine in the Hungarian town of Fot, near Budapest, and made off with an unknown sum of money. MTI news agency reported that the force of the blast was so strong that it blew out the windows of a nearby mayor's office.
Police arrived to find money strewn across the road, but no sign of the robbers. It is not yet known how much was stolen.
This was the second attempt in just over a week to break into an ATM in such a fashion, with an effort last Wednesday in the nearby town of Vac ending unsuccessfully.
