Munich - Germany forward Lukas Podolski is fed up with his place on the Bayern Munich substitutes' bench and is toying with leaving the German top club after the season. "To be honest: I am fed up being on the Bayern-bench," Podolski told Friday's edition of the Bild daily.
"I will think things over after the season. Then you have to consider whether it still makes sense for both sides."
Podolski came to Munich in 2006 from Cologne. But he has rarely played this season after Munich spent big on Italy striker Luca Toni and Germany forward Miroslav Klose in 2007.
The 22-year-old has played in 16 league matches, but mainly came off the bench. He is yet to score a Bundesliga goal this season.
Podolski insistedthat he doesn't blame coach Ottmar Hitzfeld but that he wants to play in the future.
"I want to do what I enjoy and what I am paid for - to play football. I have been on the bench long enough," he said.
However, Munich are unlikely to let him go as they want depth in the squad. They turned down a big offer from Manchester City for Podolski in the winter break and Munich's next coach Juergen Klinsmann has already said that Podolski must stay.
Klinsmann takes over from Hitzfeld in July. Podolski was a regular starter in the national team when Klinsmann was Germany coach 2004-2006.
