Baghdad - Iraqi military authorites have imposed a curfew on Baghdad through Sunday morning in an attempt to quell Shiite militia activity. The curfew was declared Thursday night by the Baghdad Operation Command, spokesman Major General Kassem Atta said in a statement to the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI). He described the measure as "a comprehensive curfew that covers people, vehicles, cars and motorcycles of all types."
"The curfew will cover all parts of Baghdad with no exception," Asta said.
