Teenage Irish brothers net 4.7 million dollars for software company

Cork, Ireland - Two teenage brothers from the Irish city of Limerick have just sold their software company to a Canadian firm for 3 million euros (4.7 million dollars), national broadcaster RTE reported Thursday. Schoolboy John Collison, 17, and his brother Patrick, 19, finalized the deal selling Auctomatic, a provider of software for heavy users of the online auction site eBay, to Live Current Media on Good Friday. The brothers set up the company last year, then moved to California's Silicon Valley for investment when they failed to secure funding from the Irish government. While in California, Auctomatic's US investors suggested they merge with a similar British start-up and the resulting fledgling company is the one that caught the attention of the publicly listed Canadian firm.
