Muenster, Germany - Linus Gerdemann aims to recover from leg fractures in time to cycle for Germany at the Beijing Olympics in August. "I want to be fully fit again for the Olympics and attack in Beijing," the rider of the High Road team said on Tuesday.

Gerdemann suffered the injuries in a March 16 crash during a time trial at the Tirreno-Adriatico event in Italy.

He said the fractures in his left leg will probably not require an operation but that the Tour de France in July will likely be too early for him. The Olympics in China are August 8-24.

Gerdemann, 25, made headlines last year at the Tour de France when he won a mountain stage and wore overall leader's yellow jersey for one day.
