Beijing - Tibet protests reached the capital of Beijing as Tibetan students mounted a silent watch outside a university, the news agency Xinhua reported Tuesday. The protest began Monday evening in apparent quiet solidarity with anti-Chinese demonstrations in Tibet over the past days. The students gathered about 19:30 Monday on the campus in Beijing's Haidian section, where they held candles. There were no reported clashes with police. Teachers then convinced the students to return to their dormitories for the night, the report said.
