Cupertino, California - Apple has upgraded its line of portable computers. The MacBook Pro now comes with a Core 2 Duo processor with up to 2.6 gigahertz of processing power, Apple reports. The MacBook Pro also includes up to 4 Gigabytes (GB) of 667 megahertz DDR2 SDRAM and hard drives offering up to 300 GB of storage space. A GeForce 8600M GT video card from Nvidia holds up to an additional 512 MB of RAM. The base price for the MacBook Pro runs between 1,799 and 2,499 dollars depending on which options are selected. The MacBook line has also been reworked. The new devices come with a brilliant 13-inch widescreen display. The entry level model is a white MacBook with 2.1 GHz processor and 120 gigabytes of hard drive space. The lowest price model is now 50 dollars cheaper than before, but still does not include a built-in DVD burner. Starting with the 1,199 euro white MacBook model, the DVD burner as well as a 2.4 GHz processor and 160 GB of RAM are included. The same holds true for the black variant with 250 GB capacity priced at 1,399 dollars. All models in the MacBook and MacBook Pro series have a built-in camera.
