Sydney - Relatives of Hollywood actor Heath Ledger are worried his ex-wife and baby daughter may be cut out of his fortune, the Sun Herald newspaper reported Monday. Ledger, 28, was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on January 22 from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.
Michelle Williams, whom Ledger met on the set of Brokeback Mountain, is not mentioned in his will. Nor is Matilda, their 2-year-old daughter.
"Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family," Heath's father, Kim Ledger, said in a statement issued in the west coast Australian city of Perth, Ledger's hometown. "They will be taken care of and that's how Heath would want it."
Williams, 27, separated from Ledger late last year.
Court documents released in the US media show Ledger had filed a will in Australia in April 2003, which reportedly left his assets to his parents and sisters.
It was drafted two years before he met Williams. Ledger's uncles, Mike and Haydn, are said by the Sun Herald to have warned Williams that she may be cut out of the estate.
"I'm concerned for Matilda," Haydn Ledger was quoted as saying. "I have concerns about the distribution of funds."
