Baghdad - The death toll of Thursday's twin explosions in Baghdad rose Friday to 68 killed and 120 injured, police officials said. Two roadside bombs went off in quick succession late Thursday in Baghdad's busy Qarada business district, the Voices of Iraq (VOI) news agency quoted police as saying.
The first bomb went off around 7 pm and the second blast came as people gathered to help the wounded, according to broadcaster CNN.
Police said the explosions also left some storefronts damaged in the crowded commercial district located in central Baghdad.
