Madrid - The Spanish government Monday expressed "concern" over the tension between Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela, calling for "calm" and offering to help the three countries "recover an atmosphere of understanding."Spain remained in contact with the authorities of the three countries, the Foreign Ministry said in a communique, urging them to use "diplomatic channels" to solve disagreements.
There needed to be an "understanding" between "neighbouring countries which share the same history and are active members of the Ibero-American community," the ministry said.
