Gaza City - Two Palestinians were killed in a fresh Israeli airstrike in the city of Kahn Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on Thursday night, medics and witnesses said. The two were reportedly in a car belonging to the Gaza Power Station Company.
For the second consecutive night, Israel intensified its aerial attacks on Gaza, leaving 32 people killed and dozens wounded since Wednesday in response to a barrage of rocket attacks by Hamas militants from Gaza into southern Israel.
Mo'aweya Hassanein, chief of emergency and ambulance services in the Palestinian health ministry said that since Wednesday morning 33 people were killed.
Israeli aircraft also hit on Thursday night a house east of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip, wounding at least 10 civilians. The house belongs to a Hamas militant, the witnesses said.
Israeli drones and warplanes kept hovering over the Gaza Strip to hit militants launching homemade rockets from the enclave at southern Israeli towns and communities.
Hamas and other militant groups claimed responsibility for launching a barrage of homemade rockets at Israel, which have killed one Israeli citizen and wounded dozens since Wednesday.
