Ramallah - Two armed Palestinians were killed early Thursday when an Israeli army unit raided Balata refugee camp in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, according to hospital sources. They said armed Palestinians engaged the Israeli unit, which entered the camp to arrest militants, leaving two of the militants dead and another wounded.

The two were identified as members of al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, the military wing of President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement.

The army arrested the wounded Palestinian, said the sources.

That brought the death toll to three in Nablus in the last 24 hours, all members of the al-Aqsa group.

The Palestinian Authority has condemned the Israeli operations saying they do not serve the peace process and negotiations.
