Singapore - Top students from 22 Arab countries will attend a National University of Singapore master's programme with funds from the premier of the United Arab Emirates, organizers said on Friday. Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum gave a 10-billion-US-dollar grant last year to establish a foundation, with part going to scholarships.
The programme starts in August, a foundation spokesman said, enabling professionals and students to pursue post-graduate studies in public policy, finance and business administration.
The NUS Business School and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy were selected. Others include Harvard, Princeton and Stanford universities.
Each two-year scholarship is worth up to 130,000 US dollars.
Recipients will have to return to the Arab region to work for at least two years.
